“It makes perfect sense to publish a book called Moonwatch Only.”

Captain Eugene Cernan, The Last Man on the Moon

In addition to the original book, we have created the perfect mobile guide.

the inescapable reference
book for a legendary watch.

Initially designed for automobile racing teams and engineers, the OMEGA Speedmaster embarked on a very different trajectory when NASA chose it to accompany astronauts heading for the moon in 1965. Its involvement in the space adventure has propelled the Speedmaster, henceforth with the added name of “Moonwatch” to the top of the list of celebrated timepieces. After years of research and observations, the authors present a complete panorama of the Moonwatch in a systematic work that is both technical and attractive, making it the inescapable reference book for this legendary watch.

It is an indescribable reference work and a true must-have for every Speedmaster collector.

Moonwatch Only, absolutely the finest guide to Speedmaster on the planet.

This book sets a new standard. Not only for books on the Omega Speedmaster, but for watch books in general. I’ve never seen anything like it, and believe me when I tell you that I could fill an impressive sized wall with books on watches. Authors of other books or publishers should take a look at Moonwatch Only as well to see how it should be done.

The authors, a Swiss biologist and a French aeronautical engineer used their scientific skills to write what is certainly the most definitive work about the Speedmaster [...] They created a methodology which not only makes this book an important reference for Speedmaster collectors around the world, but also for future watch book writers who could use Moonwatch Only as a template for other important watches [...] Moonwatch Only is certainly one of the best books ever written about a single watch model.

A luxurious new tome detailing every model and attribute in the Speedmaster’s most famous lineage was a labour of love for its authors, and will be a bible for collectors.

QP Magazine

Moonwatch Only, released in 2014, sets a new standard for watch-related publications and instantly skyrocketed to the number 1 position on the Speedmaster publications chart – should such a chart have existed.

Speedy Watches

In this book, Speedmaster fans will have a single source that has been created to answer all of the questions they might have about their favourite chronograph.

Several years in the making, this new book becomes the indisputable reference for all Omega Speedmaster models.

Actually, it is a true bible since it is made of around 500 pages full of information and technical data. But what I appreciated the most by browsing the book was its clever and sound organization.

It is impossible to imagine a wristwatch with a more impressive backstory.

The OMEGA Speedmaster Professional – the Moonwatch – has done things that no other timepiece has done and its been worn in places that only a few human beings have been.

None of us know today what the future of human space travel will be but I still believe in the indomitable will and courage, the passion, and the inspiration in the hearts and minds of dreamers – dreamers who want to go once again where we’ve never gone before, see things we’ve never seen before and do things that have never been done before. And when that spirit takes humankind to the limits of our imagination, I have no doubt that the OMEGA Speedmaster will be part of the journey.

Captain Eugene Cernan, The Last Man on the Moon

Today, the Moonwatch is still as important as ever.

Nobody could foresee the remarkable destiny of the first chronograph with a tachymeter scale on the bezel that OMEGA brought out in 1957. It needed a fast name because it was designed for automobile racing teams and engineers. Its fate took a stratospheric twist in 1965 when NASA chose the model for the astronauts that would land on the Moon — a decision that propelled the Moonwatch to watchmaking’s hall of fame. 60 years later, the Speedmaster family has grown with numerous evolutions, but the Moonwatch remains almost unchanged in its shape and spirit and it is still one of the most – if not THE most – iconic timepieces ever.
