The OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch is one of them. The book aims to provide the most comprehensive overview possible of the different Speedmaster Moonwatch models, parents and variants, from the first reference of 1957 and including all the Special and Limited Series that we know of.
The new “MOONWATCH ONLY – 60 Years of OMEGA” Speedmaster edition has been enriched with numerous new features and additional information.
Two new historical chapters have been added with the contribution of James H. Ragan, retired NASA Project Engineer and Program Manager and Petros Protopapas, International Brand Heritage Manager of OMEGA.
Another new chapter is dedicated to the overview of 60 years of innovation from OMEGA and other iconic models of the Speedmaster line.
After years of in-depth study and the acquisition of several dozen Speedmasters, we felt we should share with neophyte collectors what we had learned and so help them identify the different versions and their components, avoid the pitfalls and sharpen their observation. We nevertheless wanted to produce the most detailed analysis possible so that the book could serve as a reference and guide to the more experienced collector.
Since 2014, we have noted that our methodology describing and exhaustively listing the numerous models and their components, illustrated by a large number of photos, has increased awareness among watch enthusiasts in general and encouraged newcomers to explore the world of the Moonwatch.
